Injured? Reach for Ice to Minimize Injury and Speed Healing
Rest Immediatly after an injury. Take the weight off the injury.
Ice the injury for 10 to 20 minutes 3-5 times a day. Zip-lock bags filled with crushed ice work as well as an ice pack. For heatstoke, apply the ice pack to the back of the neck.
Compress the injured area using an elastic bandage. Wrap snugly, not tightly.
Elevate the injured limb on two or three pillows to minimize the swelling.
In this busy traffic-laden world, where do you go to find peace? Where can you rest and relax the days turmoil away?
Well, take a deep breath and take yourself to your favorite place. Find a memory where you last did something special for the first time. Move out of the darkness and into the Light. This is the place where you drop off the guilt, remove the remorse, and transform fear into faith. Creating a safe haven in your mind is a lot easier than you think. I begin with subtracting items from my thinking. I do only what is difficult. One task at a time, but the difficult one first. After I have mastered this I can enjoy doing the smaller tasks comfortably. At no time do I answer the phone or allow anything to distract me when I am creating my comfort zone. This gives me quality time and allows me to enjoy myself at whatever I decide is for my highest and best good.
Practicing this exercise regularly helps me to reenergize my body and keeps me off the stress express.
How do you feel? After you have tried this, let me know how it works for you. Write to me.
